Today is a good day to recognize St. Mary's School in Centralia, Illinois. If my information is correct, St. Mary's is the educational facility who taught James Scott Brady in his "Jim Bear" youth, as some refer to him. Mr. Brady served as the White House Press Secretary during President Ronald Reagan's term(s) in office. On August 5th of 2014 James Brady died at the age of 73. "Jim Bear" is and was an advocate of laws to prevent gun violence. We can hope and pray that America's infatuation with weapons is one day resolved in a responsible way that allows her to defend her country and set an example for other nations to follow.
St. Mary's Parish proclaims the Gospel values, and are appreciative of a rich tradition of faith since 1857.
